Welcome to the Louvain Institute for Ireland in Europe which is based in the historic Irish
College(1607) in Leuven, Belgium. Through its location, close to Brussels, the
Institute has access to a unique network of expertise in a wide range of
subject areas including EU Institutions and Policies, European Trade and
Business Management, Local and Regional Government, NGO Activity, Economic and
Social issues.
The Institute, which was established in 1984, has two main areas of activity :-
- Providing Tailor-made Residential Programmes for
all sectors in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, particularly Business, Higher Education,
the Public Sector and the non-profit sector.
Subject to availability the Institute also provides programmes and conference
facilities for interests from other EU countries & regions, applicant countries, USA, Asia & South America.
- Promoting all forms
of cultural activity, from both parts of Ireland, including the Arts, Theatre, Dance,
Music and Literature.
