Our Network

The Institute’s network is continuously expanding to meet the greatly varying needs of the organisations for whom we provide programmes. This is greatly facilitated by the Institute’s unique location – based in the famous university city of Leuven, 20 minutes from Brussels with France, Holland, Germany and Luxembourg less than 1 hour by road or rail. The Institute’s network includes :-
  • Experts from the EU Institutions - the European Parliament, the Commission, the Council of Ministers, the Committee of the regions, the Economic and Social Committee, the European Investment Bank and the European Courts.
  • The permanent representative offices, at the EU, of each of the member-state governments.
  • The embassies of the countries from all over the world which have responsibility for relations with the EU, including the embassies of the applicant member states.
  • NATO headquarters.
  • The representatives of over 200 European regions which have offices in Brussels.
  • CICEB - the representative organisation of the European cultural institutes which have a presence in Benelux i.e. France, Spain, Britain, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Italy.
  • The representative offices at the EU of almost every area of economic activity in Europe.
  • A wide range of specialists engaged in monitoring and analysing EU policies and developments including consultants, the world press and other media.
  • A range of leading businesses which have their European headquarters in Belgium, successful Belgian companies, import/export specialists, Belgian and international banking groups, the American Chamber of Commerce etc.
  • Leading academics from the famous Louvain university, the College of Europe in Brugge, the Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht and many other academic institutions.
  • The local, regional and federal administrations of Belgium.
  • Not-profit organisations active in a wide range of social issues.
  • Waste management specialists and environmental experts. The Institute has a special relationship with the Regional Environment Centre for Central and Eastern Europe.
